The City Council of Larkspur has given the Larkspur 2050 Committee (formerly the Planning & Finance Committee) the mission to:

Assess the City's capital improvement and service needs Evaluate fiscal options Recommend short- and long-term courses of action

What is unique about the process is the direct participation of the community determining how to prioritize the needs of the City for the next fifty years. The committee consists of representatives from various neighborhood and community groups. The public is strongly encouraged to attend community workshops which are designed to solicit feedback from the general community.

The Larkspur 2050 Committee made its recommendation to the City Council in July 2000.
